Following an initial teaser, CBS All Access has released the first full trailer for Star Trek: Picard. The upcoming streaming series will feature the return of Patrick Stewart in the iconic role of Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Though an official synopsis has not been revealed yet, the trailer depicts a retired Picard embarking on a new journey when a mysterious woman comes to him for help. Beyond Patrick Stewart, additional cast members for the show include Santiago Cabrera, Isa Briones, Alison Pill, and Harry Treadaway. Likewise, a few familiar faces from previous Star Trek shows are also revealed in the preview.

Other members of the show's creative team include James Duff, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, and Kirsten Beyer. In addition, Stewart, Chabon, Goldsman, Duff, and Kurtzman are on board as executive produce, along with Heather Kadin of Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment President Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, and Roddenberry Entertainment COO Trevor Roth.
Patrick Stewart originally played Captain Jean-Luc Picard in all seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which ran from 1987 to 1994. In addition, the actor previously reprised the role in four theatrical films: Star Trek: Generations (1994), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), Star Trek: Insurrection (1998), and Star Trek: Nemesis (2002).
An exact release date for Star Trek: Picard has not been announced yet, but the show is set to premiere in early 2020. Beyond the upcoming series, CBS All Access is also home to Star Trek: Discovery which has been renewed for a third season. A current CBS All Access subscription costs $5.99 per month with reduced commercials or $9.99 per month for a commercial-free plan.
