Check out the latest Blu-ray announcements and details.
New info has been announced for several upcoming Blu-ray releases from Warner Bros., Universal, PBS, RJL Entertainment, Visual Entertainment Group, Shout Factory, and Kino.
Here's a full rundown of recently revealed details and title announcements:
First up, Warner Bros. is set to release CHIPS starring Michael Peña, Dax Shepard, Jessica McNamee on June 27. Supplements will include:
- This is Not Your Dad's CHiPs
- Practical Pursuit
- Ducati: The Perfect Bike
- Director's Commentary
- Deleted Scenes
Meanwhile, Universal is prepping J.D. Dillard's Sleight starring Jacob Latimore, Seychelle Gabriel, Dulé Hill for Blu-ray later this year. No other details have been announced yet.
PBS is preparing Ken Burns and Lynn Novick's ten-part documentary series The Vietnam War for Blu-ray on September 19. No other details have been announced at this time.
RLJ Entertainment has announced plans to release Mark and Robb Cullen's Once Upon a Time in Venice starring Bruce Willis, Elisabeth Röhm, and Jason Momoa. No other information has been revealed so far.
Visual Entertainment Group will bring The Untouchables: Season 1 starring Tom Amandes, Paul Regina, and John Newton to Blu-ray on May 26. Supplements have not been revealed yet.
Shout Factory is preparing a 20th Anniversary Steelbook reissue of Joel and Ethan Coen's Fargo starring William H. Macy, Frances McDormand, and Steve Buscemi for Blu-ray on August 8. The disc will feature the same remastered transfer found on the last MGM release, and supplements will include:
- Audio Commentary With Director of Photography Roger A. Deakins
- "Minnesota Nice" Featurette
- Interview With The Coen Brothers And Frances McDormand
- American Cinematographer Article
- Original Trailer And TV Spot
- Still Photo Gallery
In addition, Shout Factory has also announced plans to release a Collector's Edition Blu-ray of Joseph Zito's Missing in Action starring Chuck Norris, M. Emmet Walsh, and David Tress on August 15. The disc will include:
- NEW Audio Commentary With Director Joseph Zito
- NEW Interview With Writer James Bruner
- And More..
Likewise, Shout Factory is prepping Niki Caro's Whale Rider starring Keisha Castle-Hughes, Rawiri Paratene, and Vicky Haughton for Blu-ray on August 22. Not other details have been announced yet.
Lastly, the label has also revealed plans to bring George P. Breakston and Kenneth G. Crane's sci-fi/horror flick The Manster, and Avi Nesher's sci-fi/action flick Timebomb to Blu-ray on August 29. Not other details have been revealed at this time.
Finally, Kino is bringing Harry Winer's SpaceCamp and William Wyler's The Big Country to Blu-ray later this year. Supplements for The Big Country will include:
- Audio Commentary by Film Historian Christopher Frayling
- Directed by William Wyler - 60 Minute Documentary
- Interview with Catherine Wyler
- Interview with Cecilia Peck
- Interview with Fraser C. Heston
- Interview with Carey Peck
