"Boop."
After months of leaks, aggravating teases, and an ARG that could not have resolved at a worse possible time (the final part went up during the extra innings of the World Series, for crying out loud), Blizzard finally gave 'Overwatch' fans what they've known was coming: Mexican hacker Sombra has been formally anounced at Blizzcon.
There's already a ton of info, and not just the stuff the leaks confirmed: She carries an SMG as a primary weapon, which does mild damage, but has massive clips. She has a Hack ability which strips away enemy abilities for a short period, disables devices (e.g. Torbjorn/Symmetra's turrets), and makes health packs unusable by the enemy. She can cloak, which renders her 100% invisible until she fires a weapon, takes any damage, or tries to hack something. She can throw a translocator beacon which she has the ability to teleport back to from anywhere. Lastly, she's got an EMP which completely neutralizes any shields and barriers, as well as auto-hacking every enemy/device in range. It all basically adds up to "she's gonna be a royal pain".
On top of the formal announcement, Sombra also gets one of those snazzy short films Blizzard's been putting together for the roster, which is a pretty fun demonstration of her powers, which also apparently include lethal boops on the nose. Check it out below.
PC players get first dibs, with Sombra being available in the Public Test Region starting next week. No official live date has been announced just yet, but Ana, the game's last addition, went live a week after she was in testing, so the wait shouldn't be too long for the rest of the world.
