Billy Wilder's The Apartment, a collection of silent films from director Fritz Lang, and more are all coming to Blu-ray.
New info has been revealed for several upcoming Blu-ray releases from Arrow Video and Kino.
First up, Kino has also announced plans to being Fritz Lang: The Silent Films to Blu-ray on November 21. The twelve-disc collection will include Metropolis (1927), Die Nibelungen (1924), Spies (1928), Dr. Mabuse the Gambler (1922), Destiny (1921), The Spiders (1919), Woman in the Moon (1929), Four Around the Woman (1921), Harakiri (1919), The Wandering Shadow (1920), and The Plague of Florence (1919).
In addition, separate releases for Henry Hathaway's Legend of the Lost, Paul Wendkos' Special Delivery, Enzo G. Castellari and Luigi Cozzi's Sinbad of the Seven Seas, Burt Lancaster's The Kentuckian, Jim Kouf's Miracles, and The Master The Complete Series are all in the works as well. Supplements and exact release dates have not been announced yet.
And beyond Kino, Arrow has announced its upcoming collection of December releases. The lineup will include:
A Collector's Edition of Billy Wilder's The Apartment starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine is set to hit Blu-ray via the Arrow Academy label on December 5. The limited deluxe edition package will feature a brand new 4K restoration of the film from the original camera negative and supplements will include:
- Audio commentary with film producer and historian Bruce Block
- New appreciation of the film and select scene commentary by film historian Philip Kemp
- The Flawed Couple, a new video essay by filmmaker David Cairns on the collaborations between Billy Wilder and Jack Lemmon
- Billy Wilder ABC, an overview by David Cairns on the life and career of the filmmaker, covering his films, collaborators and more
- New interview with actress Hope Holiday
- Inside the Apartment, a half-hour "making-of" featurette from 2007 including interviews with Shirley MacLaine, executive producer Walter Mirisch, and others
- Magic Time: The Art of Jack Lemmon, an archive profile of the actor from 2007
- Original screenplay by Billy Wilder and I.A.L. Diamond (BD-ROM content)
- Theatrical trailer
- Special collector's packaging featuring newly commissioned artwork by Ignatius Fitzpatrick
- Collector's 150-page hardcover book featuring new writing by Neil Sinyard, Kat Ellinger, Travis Crawford and Heather Hyche, generously illustrated with rare stills and behind-the-scenes imagery
Robert Allen Schnitzer's The Premonition starring Sharon Farrell, Edward Bell, and Danielle Brisebois will also be available on December 5. The disc will feature a 2K restoration from original film elements and supplements will include:
- Introduction to the film by Nightmare USA author Stephen Thrower
- Isolated Score
- Audio commentary with producer-director Robert Allen Schnitzer
- Pictures from a Premonition – brand new making-of documentary featuring interviews with Schnitzer, composer Henry Mollicone and cinematographer Victor Milt
- Archive interviews with Schnitzer and star Richard Lynch
- Trailers and TV Spots
- Three Robert Allen Schnitzer short films: Vernal Equinox, Terminal Point and A Rumbling in the Land
- 4 "Peace Spots"
- Reversible sleeve featuring original and newly-commissioned artwork by The Twins of Evil
In addition, Christopher Speeth's Malatesta's Carnival of Blood is coming to Blu-ray on December 5. The disc will feature a 2K restoration from original vault materials and supplements will include:
- Introduction to the film by Nightmare USA author Stephen Thrower
- Audio Commentary by film historian Richard Harland Smith
- The Secrets of Malatesta – an interview with director Christopher Speeth
- Crimson Speak – an interview with writer Werner Liepolt
- Malatesta's Underground – art directors Richard Stange and Alan Johnson discuss the weird, mysterious world of Malatesta's underground

Likewise, Matt Cimber's The Witch Who Came from the Sea will be released on December 5 as well. The disc will feature a 2K restoration from original vault materials and supplements will include

- Audio commentary with producer-director Matt Cimber, actress Millie Perkins and director of photography Dean Cundey
- Tides and Nightmares – brand new making-of documentary featuring interviews with Cimber, Perkins, Cundey and actor John Goff

- Lost at Sea – director Cimber reflects on his notorious cult classic

Meanwhile, Steve Miner's House starring George Wendt, Richard Moll, and William Katt will hit Blu-ray on December 12. The disc will feature a new 2K restoration from original film elements and supplements will include:
- Audio commentary with director Steve Miner, producer Sean S. Cunningham, actor William Katt and screenwriter Ethan Wiley
- Ding Dong, You're Dead! The Making of House – brand new documentary featuring interviews with director Steve Miner, producer Sean S. Cunningham, screenwriter Ethan Wiley, story creator Fred Dekker, stars William Katt, Kay Lenz and George Wendt, composer Harry Manfredini, special make-up and creature effects artists Barney Burman, Brian Wade, - James Belohovek, Shannon Shea, Kirk Thatcher and Bill Sturgeon, special paintings artists Richard Hescox and William Stout and stunt coordinator Kane Hodder
