The upcoming crime thriller will hit theaters in December.
Annapurna Pictures has released the first trailer for Destroyer starring Nicole Kidman. The crime drama originally debuted at the Telluride Film Festival on August 31, and is set to hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on December 25 before expanding to more locations in January.
Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

The movie comes from director Karyn Kusama with a script written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Nicole Kidman stars, along with Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy. Fred Berger, Phil Hay, and Matt Manfredi are all on board as producers as well.
Previous films directed by Karyn Kusama include Girlfight, Æon Flux, Jennifer's Body, and The Invitation. Likewise, Kusama has directed several episodes of shows like The Man in the High Castle, Billions, and Halt and Catch Fire.
Beyond Destroyer, Nicole Kidman can be seen next in James Wan's Aquaman from Warner Brothers. The film is based on the DC Comics character and is set to hit theaters on December 21. Kidman plays Queen Atlanna, the mother of Arthur Curry / Aquaman (Jason Momoa).
