A new spin on the cult classic horror flick is dancing toward theaters in November.
Amazon Studios has revealed the first teaser trailer for Luca Guadagnino's new version of Suspiria. The upcoming horror movie is inspired by the 1977 film of the same name and is set to haunt theaters on November 2, 2018
A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare.
Check out the teaser trailer below!
Suspiria comes from director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name) with a script by writer David Kajganich (True Story) based on characters created by Dario Argento & Daria Nicolodi. The film stars Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades Freed), Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper, and Chloe Grace Moretz. Thom Yorke from the band Radiohead is composing the score.
The original 1977 version of Suspiria was directed by Dario Argento and is now considered a cult classic famous for its stylistic visuals and vivid use of color. A recent Blu-ray version of the movie sourced from a new 4K remaster of the original camera negatives and a restoration of the original 4-track magnetic stereo mix was released back in March by Synapse Films. Here's a synopsis per Synapse:
Jessica Harper (Phantom of the Paradise) stars in this horrific tale of a young student who uncovers dark and horrific secrets within the walls of a famous German dance academy. What spirals out from that simple premise is one of the most powerful and hallucinatory nightmares ever captured on celluloid!
