Bypassing a planned theatrical release, Universal will bring the 'White Noise: The Light' directly to HD DVD this January.
A sequel to the original 2005 sleeper hit, 'White Noise: The Light' was initially expected to hit theaters early next year, but now Universal has confirmed it's bringing the Nathan Fillion-starrer directly to HD DVD and standard DVD January 8 instead, the same day the original 'White Noise' is set to make its high-def bow (as the studio announced earlier this week).
There are no tech specs available yet for 'White Noise: The Light,' but bonus features will include the "Journey into Madness" and "Exploring Near-Death Experience" featurettes and deleted scenes.
The disc will also be web-enabled, though contents are still to be announced. We'll keep you posted.
Retail for the HD DVD is $39.98.
You'll find disc details for 'White Noise: The Light' linked from our HD DVD Release Schedule, where it is indexed under January 8, 2008, along with 'White Noise.'
