Warner Home Video has announced the latest addition to its next-gen
library of classic catalog remasters with the September 18 HD DVD and Blu-ray
debut of 'Deliverance.'
The John Boorman action-adventure was one of 1973's biggest hits, earning strong
box office, critical acclaim and multiple Oscar nominations. Starring Jon Voight
and Burt Reynolds as city dwellers who make a risky (and terror-inducing) rafting
trip into the backwoods, the film remains as famous as it is infamous, forever
etching the phrase "squeal like a pig!" into the cultural vocabulary.
Warner has remastered the film in a new 1080p master for Blu-ray and HD
DVD release, and also plans to offer up new Dolby 5.1 surround remixes (640kbps).
Extras will include a new audio commentary with Boorman, a four-part retrospective
documentary, plus a vintage featurette and the
film's theatrical trailer.
Warner has set a $28.95 list price for each version.
