UPDATE 02/05/08: In our original news story, we attributed 'Sharkwater' as a National Geographic release. We've since been informed by Warner that the title is not associated with National Geographic but an independent release to be distributed solely through by studio. We've updated our database accordingly.
Warner has announced the award-winning documentary 'Sharkwater' for Blu-ray release this April.
From documentarian Rob Stewart, 'Sharkwater' dives deep into the dangerous world of aquatic predators with renegade conservationist Paul Watson, who faces off against poachers and pirates and other foes in an attempt to save the world's shark population.
Warner has set an April 8 Blu-ray debut for 'Sharkwater,' day-and-date with the standard-def DVD version. (At presstime, the studio says no decision has yet been made as to whether an HD DVD version will also be released.)
Tech specs include 1080p video and English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio (optional English subtitles are also provided).
Extras revealed to retailers thus far include a making-of featurette. A full media announcement is due in the coming days.
Suggested retail for the Blu-ray is $29.99.
You'll find disc details for 'Sharkwater' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under April 8.
