'Batman: Arkham Origins' is the third in a series of games that have given players the feeling of playing as Batman in a way that other comic book character based games can't touch. Even so, by the end of 'Batman: Arkham City,' it felt like much of Batman's universe and the series' mechanics had been exhausted.
And that may be why 'Batman: Arkham Origins,' which is being developed by a different studio, went down the road of semi-prequel. From Warner Bros., "Batman: Arkham Origins lets players experience Batman's transformation from an unrefined vigilante into the Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne's journey to become a crime fighter and his steadfast morality began much earlier in his life, formed by tragedy, dedication, and honor."
