TNT's new alien invasion show blasts its way to Blu-ray this summer.
On June 5 'Falling Skies' will find its way to Blu-ray. The show chronicles the chaotic aftermath of an alien attack that leaves most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, survivors band together to begin the difficult task of fighting back against the aggressive aliens. Outside of Boston, history professor Tom Mason (Wyle) helps lead a small army named 2nd Massachusetts in the battle of their lives to preserve their families and what's left of humanity.
There are a wealth of special features which have been announced including some Blu-ray exclusives. Special features include: Extended version of pilot episode; Deleted scenes; International promos; Day in the Life feature; Commentary on selected episodes; Season 2 sneak peek; 2011 Comic Con panel; The Making of Skitter; Harness Makeup Tips; and Director One on One. The Blu-ray exclusives that have been mentioned are 'Falling Skies' from Pencils to Print and a collectible trading card.
The suggested list price has been set at $49.99.
The Blu-ray will be released on 2 BD-50s along with an UltraViolet Digital Copy. It will have a 1080p picture framed with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. It will also include a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 English track.
