Warner has unveiled the latest addition to its growing line of Blu-ray double-dips, with the early-December release of 'I Am Legend: Ultimate Collector's Edition.'
Originally released earlier this year in relatively bare bones Blu-ray and HD DVD editions, Warner will re-launch the Will Smith sci-fi blockbuster on December 9 as a two-disc Blu-ray (day-and-date with new two-disc and three-disc DVD versions).
Kicking off the hours of new bonus features on disc one is the theatrical version of the film with audio commentary by director Francis Lawrence and producer-screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, the 21-part documentary "Creating I Am Legend," the featurette "Cautionary Tale," four animated comics and the theatrical trailer.
Disc two includes the alternate version of the film plus a pair of "Behind the Story" featurettes, 12 deleted scenes, and a Digital Copy of the film for use on PCs, portable video players and Mac-based devices.
Exclusive to the Blu-ray will be Focus Points, allowing you to watch the theatrical version of the film while exploring the making of 'I Am Legend' (Profile 1.1 required).
The 'Ultimate Collector's Edition' will also come housed in a deluxe package including a 44-page concept sketch book, a lenticular commemorative image from the film, and six collectible art cards.
Warner has not yet announced tech specs for the Blu-ray, but 1080p video and high-res audio are expected. We'll keep you posted.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $59.98.
