3D tickets sales have been on the decline, so Paramount and Best Buy want to make sure you see 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' in all three cinematic dimensions.
Available now (and valid only in stores), if you purchase the 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon – The Album' (currently priced at $9.99), the original 'Transformers' Blu-ray (currently priced at $12.99), or the 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' Blu-ray (also $12.99), you will receive "an upgrade voucher" (a $5 value) to pay 2D prices for a 3D movie.
I have to admit that I was initially excited about this deal, because I'm a huge fan of Steve Jablonsky's film scores, and if there's any movie to see this summer that will actually be pushing the 3D boundaries, it's 'Dark of the Moon' (plus, it would be great to save a couple bucks). But, the Album in question doesn't appear to be the film's score, and I also wonder how many 'Transformers' fans don't already own these Blu-rays. Maybe you'll all opt for the soundtrack. Also, it's not quite clear, but my bet is this voucher probably won't work on IMAX.
Check out your local Best Buy in person, or search the Weekly Ad online for more details.
What do you think, will you be picking up any of these to save on 3D? Are any of you actually going to see T3 in 3D?
