"The promise of an all-in-one entertainment system."
Microsoft, through Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate VP of Marketing, Strategy, and Business for Xbox, has announced that through the end of 2013 more than 3 million Xbox Ones have been sold to consumers in 13 countries.
On December 11th, Microsoft had pegged Xbox One sales at 2 million consoles, and today's announcement described the console as "selling out throughout the holidays at most retailers worldwide." Even so, it's hard to estimate how many more might have sold had availability been greater.
Also contained in the announcement are repeated notes about "the most epic launch for Xbox" and "record-setting pace for Xbox." Likewise, Mehdi has pointed out that "millions of hours of live TV have been watched and millions of hours of app entertainment have been enjoyed" on the new console.
The announcement ends with a nice list of expected 2014 Xbox One titles, "including "Titanfall," "Watch_Dogs," "Project Spark," "Sunset Overdrive," "Tom Clancy’s The Division," "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," "Destiny," "Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare," and "The Elder Scrolls Online," among others."
