Select TVs and digital movies will be on sale May 20.
TCL has announced plans to offer special, limited time discounts on its lineup of smart TVs in celebration of National Streaming Day on Sunday, May 20. Likewise, Mill Creek Entertainment is also offering its own promotion with a sale on a massive 200 Digital Movie Collection.
"Streaming is rapidly growing in popularity as cord cutters seek out a wider range of apps and channels while cable subscribers are finding value in apps as a way to extend their cable package, both with the goal of consuming content they love," said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL. "Studies show that the majority of Americans stream content on their TV and we recognized this rising need, taking action by partnering with Roku to develop the TCL Roku TV and ensure our smart products would always have easy access to the most content. We deliver a first-class way for consumers to enjoy that content, and save money on the cost of a cable box or extra streaming device, through our award-winning TVs."
Here's a few TCL models that appear to be on sale now:
In addition, TCL recently launched its flagship 65-Inch 6-Series (like the 65R615 above but with a voice remote) and 55-Inch 6-Series 4K Roku TVs with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support, along with the Roku OS smart TV platform. In addition, the sets use Contrast Control Zone Technology with 96 dimming zones on the 55-inch model and 120 dimming zones on the 65-inch model. Likewise, the panels use NBP Photon technology with LED phosphors to provide Wide Color Gamut support. A new iPQ Engine is implemented as well to maximize coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut and provide accurate color settings right out of the box.
Meanwhile, Mill Creek Entertainment is also offering a special National Streaming Day promotion, with a massive 200 Movie Collection on sale now for just $1.99. The bundle includes four 50 film collections: Great Adaptations, Icons of Comedy, Mad Scientist Theater, and Western Outlaws, which all retail separately for $5 each.
