Sony Checks in with 'Rent' Specs

Sony definitely plans to pay the high-def 'Rent' for the flick's December Blu-ray debut, offering all of the bonus features from the two-disc DVD edition plus both Dolby TrueHD and PCM audio.

First announced for Blu-ray early last month, at the time Sony offered little information beyond the disc's December 11 street date and a $28.99 MSRP. The studio has now issued a full press release, and it looks like fans won't be disappointed with this next-gen edition edition of the flick.

Boasting the full supplemental package from the previous, highly-acclaimed two-disc DVD of 'Rent,' the Blu-ray will include the six-part documentary "No Day Like Today," an audio commentary with director Chris Columbus and cast, a collection of deleted scenes and excised musical performances, plus two public service announcements.

Tech specs include 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and a collection of two uncompressed PCM and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround tracks (each 48kHz/24-bit).

As originally announced, the price for the Blu-ray remains $28.99.
