In a move only a cynic could love, Sony Pictures has yanked the planned Blu-ray releases of the romantic comedies 'My Best Friend's Wedding,' 'Mona Lisa Smile' and 'Maid in Manhattan' from its fall schedule.
As first announced last month, Sony had initially planned to bring the trio of hit chick flicks to Blu-ray concurrently on September 30, along with a fourth title, 'Can't Hardly Wait.'
Though 'Can't Hardly Wait' remains on track for release, Sony has now removed the other three titles from its schedule, offering no new date.
At press time, no reason has been given for the cancellation, nor if or when a new date for the rom-coms will be announced. As always, we'll keep you posted.
In light of Sony's news, we've moved 'My Best Friend's Wedding,' 'Mona Lisa Smile' and 'Maid in Manhattan' to the "Release Dates Postponed" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule.
