Sony Pictures is bringing the quirky drama 'Synecdoche, New York' to Blu-ray in mid-March.
Written and directed by cult auteur Charlie Kaufman, and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Michelle Williams, and Catherine Keener, 'Synecdoche, New York' only eked out a $2 million domestic box office gross.
Sony Pictures hopes to give the critically well-received film another boost on Blu-ray March 10, when it arrives day-and-date with the standard DVD.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras include a quartet of featurettes ("The Story of Caden Cotard," "Infectious Diseases in Cattle: Bloggers' Round Table," "Charlie Kaufman Animations," "NFTS/Script Factory Masterclass with Charlie Kaufman").
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $38.95.
