Sony Rearranges Blu-ray Release Schedule

With the first Blu-ray players now shipping to retailers and Sony due to launch their first wave of disc titles this coming Tuesday, the studio has announced some last minute changes to their initial release lineup.

Now due to hit stores on June 20 are six Blu-ray titles: '50 First Dates,' 'The Fifth Element,' 'Hitch,' 'House of Flying Daggers,' 'Underworld: Evolution' and 'xXx.' The studio will also distribute 'The Terminator' for MGM on the same day.

Following on June 27 will be 'A Knight's Tale' and 'The Last Waltz,' as well as 'Ultraviolet,' the first Blu-ray title to premiere day and date with the standard DVD release.

Sony has also announced its revised July lineup, which includes 'Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction' on July 11, followed by six more Blu-ray releases on July 25: 'Kung Fu Hustle,' 'Legends of the Fall,' 'Stealth,' 'Species,' 'S.W.A.T.' and 'Resident Evil: Apocalypse.'

Specs and retail price details for all titles remains unchanged.
