The documentary narrated by Gene Hackman is getting a 4K UHD release this December.
In an early announcement to retailers, Shout Factory is preparing We, The Marines for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on December 11.
We, The Marines takes viewers on an action-packed adventure into the unparalleled experience of becoming and serving as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Narrated by former Marine and Academy Award-wining actor, Gene Hackman, the film honors more than dedication and service; the film offers an unforgettable glimpse into the first-hand experiences of America's always faithful United States Marine Corps and what it takes to become the men and women who honor and defend our country.
A MacGillivray Freeman film produced in association with the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and presented by The Boeing Company, We, The Marines is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Greg MacGillivray. Originally produced for permanent exhibition in the Giant-Screen Medal of Honor Theater at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, this striking film will now be available in living rooms across the country.
The Ultra HD Blu-ray release of We, The Marines stands as Shout! Factory's first foray into the new HDR10+ technology, which allows filmmakers to present their content not only in the best quality possible, but to showcase the creative intent behind it. HDR10+ provides for scene-by-scene, frame-by-frame adjustments through dynamic metadata, allowing an unparalleled level of detail and putting the control of content presentation directly back into the filmmakers’ hands.
We, The Marines has been encoded and authored by Giant Interactive, a post production and engineering facility with offices in New York and Burbank, using state of the art encoding and authoring software.
