Following the unveiling last week of Samsung's first firmware upgrade for their BD-P1000 Blu-ray player, some details have emerged on just what features and fixes are included in the download.
As we first reported last week, Samsung has yet to release an official and complete list of the upgrade's enhancements, but users have begun posting its features to various forums online.
Here is a list of fixes included in the firmware upgrade that have been reported so far:
- DTS playback problems resolved
- Reversed analog output connectors have been corrected
- Faulty parental lock function now fixed
- HDMI compatibility issues with certain display devices eliminated
Users have also reported that the upgrade also adds the following new functionality and improvements to the BD-P1000:
- Playback of BD-4 and BD-RE discs now enabled
- Allows 4:3 pillarboxing on playback of standard-def content on Blu-ray discs
- Disc load and access times improved
