The company's newest mobile entertainment device has been detailed.
Samsung has announced the latest addition to its Galaxy line of multimedia products. The Galaxy View is geared toward streaming video and is now the largest Android mobile device on the market.
"At Samsung, we are committed to creating new possibilities and bringing our consumers the best mobile experience," said JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT & Mobile Business. "We are very excited to introduce the new Galaxy View, providing an entirely new way of consuming mobile video and entertainment."
The Galaxy View features an 18.4-inch touchscreen display with a Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 and a versatile 2-way stand. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a 1.6Ghz octa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM running Android 5.1. A 2.1 MP front camera and high quality stereo speakers are integrated as well. Finally, the device's 5700mAh battery is rated for up to eight hours of video playback.
Pricing and availability have not been announced yet, but the Samsung Galaxy View will be released in 32GB and 64GB models.
