The company's new sound bar models have been detailed.
Samsung has announced two new sound bars as part of its Q Series collection. The lineup includes the HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R.
Both sound bars feature Samsung Acoustic Beam technology and the company's new Adaptive Sound feature. Acoustic Beam technology creates a wider and more dynamic soundscape through the use of an array of holes in the speaker. Meanwhile, Adaptive Sound allows the sound bars to analyze the content being played and then adjust the settings to suit individual scenes. Bluetooth wireless connectivity is included on both units as well. In addition, the HW-Q70R model also offers Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support for overhead audio, along with a slim form factor designed to complement Samsung's QLED TVs.
"Through Adaptive Sound, which understands the sound and optimizes it according to the scene, listeners can enjoy even more realistic sound for every genre of content," said Jongsuk Chu, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "The new Q-Series soundbars carry sound quality that has been revitalized by experts and feature designs that offer an appealing home aesthetic to create a better home theater experience for our customers."
The HW-Q70R and HW-Q60R are set to launch in April. Pricing for the HW-Q70R has not been announced yet, but the HW-Q60R is currently listed for $499.99 on Samsung's website.
Beyond the company's new sound bar lineup, Samsung also recently detailed its 2019 QLED 4K TV lineup. The collection includes the Q60, Q70, Q80, and Q90 series with sizes ranging from 43 inches to 82 inches.
