One of the past year's most surprising hits, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will bring the Sylvester Stallone drama 'Rocky Balboa' to Blu-ray this March.
The sixth -- and reportedly final -- installment in the Oscar-winning Rocky franchise, the Stallone-directed and starring pic was immediately pegged as a sure boondoggle when the project was first announced. But it seems "Geriatric Stallone" had the last laugh, as the film has so far earned over $60 million at the domestic box office and earned strong critical acclaim.
Sony will debut 'Balboa' on Blu-ray on March 20, day-and-date with the standard DVD version. No specs have yet been announced, though supplemental material is "TBA" so we expect at least some bonus features on the Blu-ray version.
Retail is a suggested list price of $38.95.
Stay tuned for full details, plus box cover art for 'Rocky Balboa' in the days ahead. In the meantime, we've added a listing for the title to our Blu-ray Release Schedule under March 20.
