Paul Bettany will cross the paths of some nasty vampires on the two Blu-ray formats this August.
In an early announcement to retailers, Sony will release 'Priest' on high-definition on August 16.
'Priest - 3D' will also be available on the same date.
Set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires, Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece's boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.
The Blu-rays will feature 1080p video, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtracks, and supplements will include: Commentary with Director Scott Charles Stewart, Writer Cory Goodman, Paul Bettany and Maggie Q; Deleted & Extended Scenes; The Bloody Frontier: Creating the World of Priest; and Tools of the Trade: The Weapons and Vehicles.
Blu-ray 3D exclusives include: Bullets and Crucifixes: Picture-in-Picture Experience; PS3 Trailer for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (in 3D); and PS3 Trailer for Twisted Metal (with downloadable Priest car skin).
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $35.99 and the Blu-ray 3D is $45.99.
