Adds much-needed memory management feature.
Hitting today, the latest PS Vita system update adds several features, some minor and some major. The most important update removes the 100 applications home screen limit, which is an important update for those with large libraries. As Sony's efforts to grow the Vita library are resulting in a flood of titles, long-time Vita owners should find this change in application limits important, and with the update, the home screen can now display 500 applications.
Of course, there is the ever-present issue of available Vita memory. The second most important feature of the 3.10 update has to be the new "Manage Content on Memory Card" option in the Content Manager application. This new option gives the user the ability to look over memory usage by type with the direct option to delete content and applications. This follows the ability available on many other devices, but is much needed nonetheless especially as many users are still waiting for a 64GB memory card.
Other changes for the update include:
"A Calendar application has been added for PS Vita, allowing you to set up gaming events with your friends. Sync your Google calendar to have all your events with you on your PS Vita. You can also share your favorite events by using the Messages and Email applications."
"You can now send and receive voice messages using the Messages application on PS Vita. Exchange voice messages with your friends and players on PS4 and PS Vita."
