The company's latest receiver is now shipping.
Pioneer has announced the release of its latest Elite receiver model, the mid-range Elite VSX-LX303 9.2-Ch AV Receiver. Though the press release mentions an MSRP of $899, the company's site currently lists a price of $799.
The device is rated for 100 W/Ch (8 ohms, 20Hz–20 kHz, THD 0.08%, 2-ch driven, FTC) and uses Pioneer's Direct Energy amp design with a high-grade 384 kHz/32-bit DAC (AK4458) produced by AKM, a quad-core 32-bit chip, and Aureus floating-point DSP chip. In addition, the 9.2-channel receiver offers support for up to 5.2.4 or 7.2.2 Dolby Atmos and DTS:X speaker configurations. Meanwhile, the unit offers HDMI connections with HDCP 2.2 compliancy and 4K/60p/4:4:4/24-bit, BT.2020, 4K HDR (HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision) video pass-through. Likewise, Super Resolution 4K upscaling technology is provided as well to upscale Full HD video to near 4K quality.
Pioneer's MCACC (Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System) is implemented as well for easy speaker setup. Dual-band 5 GHz/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity are also featured, along with Chromecast Built-In, DTS Play-Fi, FlareConnect, Apple AirPlay, and access to music services like Amazon Music, Pandora®, Spotify, TuneIn, TIDAL, and Deezer. Finally, Hi-Res Audio playback is offered for 192 kHz/24-bit FLAC, WAV (RIFF), AIFF, and ALAC; DSD 5.6 MHz/2.8 MHz; and Dolby TrueHD 192 kHz/24-bit files.
