Get ready for cute and cuddly polar bears in high-def when Paramount brings the acclaimed nature documentary 'Arctic Tale' to HD DVD this December.

From the makers of the Oscar-winning 'March of the Penguins' and narrated by Queen Latifah, 'Arctic Tale' tells two parallel stories of maternal survival -- one of a polar bear making a cross-continent trek with her cubs, and the other of a mother walrus caring for her calfs.

Though 'Arctic Tale' didn't set the box office alight the way 'Penguins' did, Paramount will be debuting the family-friendly doc just in time for holiday viewing, with a day-and-date release on HD DVD and standard-def DVD December 4.

Tech specs for the HD DVD include 1080p video and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround tracks in English, French and Spanish.

Extras include the "Making of 'Arctic Tale'" featurette, the "Are We There Yet? World Adventure: Polar Bear Spotting" feature, and the film's original theatrical trailer.

Retail price for the HD DVD version is $34.98.
