Several upcoming projector models have been announced.
To coincide with CES 2018 in Las Vegas this week, Optoma has announced its new projector lineup. The collection includes the UHD51A, UHD50, LH150, the 4K UHD HDR Laser UST, and the LED Pocket Projector.
"Optoma is continually focused on introducing more innovations to the home theater space, with everything from resolution and light sources, to form factor, features, and mobility – and now voice integration – to simplify the experience for consumers and deliver an inch-for-inch entertainment experience that TVs simply can't match," said Brian Soto, head of product management at Optoma Technology. "With smart home adoption on the rise, consumers are looking at non-traditional technology options that bring them a better entertainment experience, and Optoma home theater projection delivers this in spades."
The Optoma UHD51A uses TI DLP tech with support for 4K UHD projection, along with Amazon Alexa Smart Home and Custom Skills integration. In addition, the device offers 2,400 lumens, a 500,000:1 contrast ratio, and an RGBRGB color wheel with HDR10 and Rec.2020/DCPI-3 wide color gamut capabilities. The UHD51A is set to hit stores in Q1 2018 for an expected street price of $1,699. In addition, Optoma is also set to release a UHD50 model with similar specs minus Alexa support for $1,499.
Meanwhile, the Optoma LH150 offers a mobile 1080p HD LED projector solution with a battery pack. The device features 1,300 lumens, a 40,000:1 contrast ratio, multiple HDMI and USB ports, dual integrated speakers, and connectivity support for WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Pricing has not been detailed yet, but the projector is set to arrive in Q2 2018.
In addition, the company has announced the Optoma 4K UHD HDR Laser UST. The projector uses a laser light source with 4K UHD resolution and short throw capabilities. The device features 2,300 lumens, a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, HDR support, and 0.25 throw to create a 100-inch image from just 8-inches away. Optoma's 4K UHD HDR Laser UST is set to launch in Q2 2018 for a target price point of $4,999.
Finally, Optoma has revealed its new LED Pocket Projector as well. This ultra portable pocket projector uses a .2 LED RGB light source with a lifetime of 20,000 hours, and offers WVGA (854x480) resolution and 300 lumens. Battery life is rated for 2+ hours in eco-mode. The projector is expected to arrive in Q2 2018 got a target street price of $279.
