It looks like they're going to run right around $9,000 later this year.
After years and years of waiting, we all but gave up on the possibility of OLED TVs ever reaching the market. Our doubts were unfounded, as it turns out, and OLED is a reality. Samsung's 55" OLED set is expected to release in the second half of this year with a price tag in the 10 million won or $9,000 range.
In addition to the picture quality you'd expect from an OLED set, you'll find Smart Dual View technology, which allows you to watch a totally different show than the person next to you, provided you don't mind wearing 3D glasses to watch 2D content. You'll need to rock some headphones too, or else one of you is bound to have a confusing viewing experience.
Samsung says that sets from 60" on up to 75" will be coming in the future.
