Spike Lee Readies 'She's Gotta Have It' Streaming Series for Netflix

The director is adapting his debut feature film into a Netflix series.  

Netflix has announced its latest original show, 'She's Gotta Have It,' The series will be a contemporary update of the 1986 Spike Lee film of the same name.

'She's Gotta Have It' centers on Nola Darling, a Brooklyn-based artist in her late twenties struggling to define herself and divide her time amongst her Friends, her Job and her Three Lovers: The Cultured Model, Greer Childs, The Protective Investment Banker, Jamie Overstreet and Da Original B-Boy Sneakerhead, Mars Blackmon. 

The ten-episode series is being created, directed, and executive produced by Spike Lee. In addition, Tonya Lewis Lee will also executive produce. The show is being produced by Netflix. An exact release date has not been announced yet.
