The second season of Amazon's award-winning series and a new Netflix film starring Sandra Bullock headline this week's crop of trailers.
Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu have released new previews and info for several of their upcoming programs and films.
Here's a full rundown of titles scheduled to arrive on each service:
The Holiday Calendar (Netflix, November 2) - A struggling but talented photographer inherits an antique holiday advent calendar, the contents of which seem to predict the future. Will this magical calendar lead her to love this holiday season?
John Leguizamo's Latin History For Morons (Netflix, November 5) - With a rapid-fire lesson in overlooked Latin history, Colombian-American actor John Leguizamo comes to Netflix with his one-man Broadway show John Leguizamo's Latin History for Morons. Examining 3,000 years of Latino history, Leguizamo charts everything from a satirical recap of Aztec and Incan history to stories of Latin patriots in the American Civil War, revealing how whitewashed history truly is. Latin History For Morons earned a 2018 Tony Award nomination for Best Play on Broadway.
Outlaw King (Netflix, November 9) - The untold, true story of Robert the Bruce who transforms from defeated nobleman to outlaw hero during the oppressive occupation of medieval Scotland by Edward I of England. Despite grave consequences, Robert seizes the Scottish crown and rallies an impassioned group of men to fight back against the mighty army of the tyrannical King and his volatile son, the Prince of Wales. Filmed in Scotland, OUTLAW KING reunites director David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) with star Chris Pine alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh and Billy Howle.
F is for Family (Netflix, November 30) - From comedian Bill Burr and Emmy award-winner Michael Price, F is for Family transports viewers back to the 1970s, a time when political correctness, helicopter parenting and indoor smoking bans weren’t part of anyone’s vocabulary, let alone the norm. Featuring the voices of Burr, Laura Dern, Justin Long, Sam Rockwell and more.
The Hookup Plan (Netflix, December 7) - The cast of The Hookup Plan want you to know they're a romcom, so why not invoke the most iconic romcom of all time, Love Actually. No, this isn't a Christmas movie, but it is about secretly hiring a male escort to help you unlucky -in-love friend find a man. Same thing!
Tidelands: Season 1 (Netflix, December 14) - Follows Cal McTeer (Charlotte Best), a young woman who returns home to the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay after ten years in juvenile detention. But her hometown is shrouded in mysteries, the greatest of which is the commune of outcasts who live in a hidden pocket of the bay: the Tidelanders.
Bird Box (Netflix, December 21) - When a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, only one thing is certain: if you see it, you take your life. Facing the unknown, Malorie finds love, hope and a new beginning only for it to unravel. Now she must flee with her two children down a treacherous river to the one place left that may offer sanctuary. But to survive, they'll have to undertake the perilous two-day journey blindfolded. Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock leads an all-star cast that includes Trevante Rhodes, with Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich in #BirdBox, a compelling new thriller from Academy Award winner Susanne Bier.
Friends From College: Season 2 (Netflix, January 11) - A group of friends from Harvard played by Keegan-Michael Key (Ethan), Cobie Smulders (Lisa), Annie Parisse (Sam), Nat Faxon (Nick), Fred Savage (Max) and Jae Suh Park (Marianne) are facing down their forties. With interwoven and oftentimes complicated relationships with one another Friends from College is a comedic exploration of old friendships, former romantic entanglements and balancing adult life with nostalgia for the past.
Disenchantment: New Episodes (Netflix, Coming 2019) - In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.
Homecoming Season 1 (Amazon Prime Video, November 2) - Heidi Bergman (Julia Roberts) is a caseworker at Homecoming, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition to civilian life. Years later she has started a new life, living with her mother and working as a waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor questions why she left the Homecoming facility. Heidi quickly realizes that there's a whole other story behind the story she's been telling herself.
The Gymkhana Files (Amazon Prime Video, November 16) - Takes viewers deep behind the scenes of one of the world’s wildest, most successful viral video franchises of all time, with over 500 million online views and counting. Follow globally recognized race car driver and viral star Ken Block and his team of Hoonigans as they attempt to make the greatest automotive video of all time while racing in the World Rallycross Championship.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 2 (Amazon Prime Video, December 5) - After Midge’s triumph at the Gaslight, the fallout from her takedown of Sophie Lennon looms large, making her climb up the comedy ladder more challenging than ever. As the actual grind of being a comic begins to take its toll on Midge, the pressure to come clean to her family weighs on her – especially as her choices have a ripple effect on everyone around her.
Into the Dark: Flesh and Blood (Hulu, November 2) - Kimberly, a teenager suffering from agoraphobia, has not left the house since her mother’s unsolved murder. On the eve of Thanksgiving, anniversary of the murder, Kimberly begins to suspect that she is in danger in this horror/thriller. Is Kimberly going mad cloistered in a home she can’t bring herself to leave; or is the safe harbor of home and doting father a dangerous mirage?
