The worst-kept secret in high-def kid vid is now official, as Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment issued a press release Friday announcing that it would bring 'High School Musical 2' to Blu-ray and DVD this December.
Although the studio had previously revealed plans for a 'HSM 2' high-def release via a recent print advertisement included in a pair of its DVD titles, as well as an online trailer promoting the film's record-breaking basic cable debut earlier this month, the studio has now issued a press release officially announcing the title's day-and-date Blu-ray and DVD debut on December 11.
Among the extras shared by both the Blu-ray and DVD versions is an extended dance sequence, a Karaoke feature, blooper reel, "Rehearsal Cam" footage, a Sing-a-Long option and multiple music videos.
Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video and an uncompressed PCM 5.1 surround track (48kHz/24-bit/6.9mbps).
Retail for the next-gen edition is $34.95.
We've added complete and final specs to our disc details page for 'High School Musical 2,' which you'll find indexed under December 11 in our Blu-ray Release Schedule.
