Two classic Delmer Daves westerns starring Glenn Ford will ride onto Blu-ray in May.
In an early announcement to retailers, Criterion says 'Jubal' is planned for Blu-ray on May 14.
A trio of exceptional performances from Glenn Ford, Ernest Borgnine, and Rod Steiger form the center of 'Jubal,' an overlooked Hollywood treasure from genre master Delmer Daves.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p, a DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack, and supplements include a booklet featuring an essay by critic Kent Jones.
On the same day, Criterion will also be bringing '3:10 to Yuma' to Blu-ray.
In this beautifully shot and acted, psychologically complex western, Van Heflin is a mild-mannered cattle rancher who takes on the task of shepherding a captured outlaw, played with cucumber-cool charisma by Glenn Ford, to the train that will take him to prison.
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, an uncompressed mono and alternate DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtracks, and supplements will include: New interviews with author Elmore Leonard and Glenn Ford’s son and biographer, Peter Ford; and a booklet featuring an essay by critic Kent Jones.
Suggested list price for 'Jubal' is $29.95, while '3:10 to Yuma' is $39.95.
