HBO CEO: "When we premiere 'Game of Thrones' this year, we will be up on PS3."
The PS3 has been a great all-around media device, and it continues to be a top option with the new consoles still in their media option infancy. With features like Blu-ray playback, DLNA compatibility, and streaming apps enjoyed by millions, the PS3 remains a go-to for many. Unfortunately, one area where the console has lagged behind involves the continual popular HBO Go streaming option for HBO customers.
Not only does HBO go allow subscribers to stream current shows, but it's a key way to access HBO's impressive show back catalogue.
According to HBO CEO Richard Pleper, this is about to change. Not only will the PS3 be getting HBO Go, but so will the new PS4.
"With the HBO GO app on your PlayStation system and an HBO subscription via your cable or satellite provider, you’ll have unlimited, on-demand access to your favorite HBO shows, like Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and True Detective. HBO GO offers every episode of every season of the network’s best shows. You can also enjoy hit movies, sports, documentaries, and comedy specials, as well as special behind-the-scenes extras."
