The second season of the acclaimed HBO series is in the works Blu-ray this summer.
In an early announcement to retailers, HBO will bring 'Girls: The Complete Second Season' to Blu-ray on August 13.
Since its debut in 2012, 'Girls' has become of the most critically acclaimed and buzzed about shows on television. TV Guide hails the series as "fearlessly raw," the Los Angeles Times proclaims it "excruciatingly funny" and the New York Times calls it "a phenomenon." Created by and starring Lena Dunham, who also executive produced along with Emmy® winner Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner, 'Girls' was the winner of two 2012 Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series-Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series-Musical or Comedy (Dunham).
The Blu-ray/DVD/Ultraviolet Digital Copy combo pack will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include Guys on Girls - watch the guys of Girls discuss what's coming next for each of their characters; Inside the Episodes; Episode 5 Table Read; and Audio Commentary - seven commentaries with cast and crew including Lena Dunham, Judd Apatow, Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and more.
Blu-ray exclusives include: Deleted & Extended Scenes; Gag Reel; The Making of Girls - a look inside the creation of season two; Charlie Rose Interview with Lena Dunham; The New Yorker Festival 2012: Emily Nussbaum Interviews Lena Dunham; Judy Collins "Songs for Judith (Open the Door)" & "Someday Soon" Extended Scenes; The Swell Season (with special guest Daniel Johnston) - "Life in Vain" - Austin City Limits, 2008 - a musical performance of the song "Life in Vain" performed by The Swell Season and special guest Daniel Johnston.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $49.99.
