It will be a double dose of 'X-Files' on high-def this holiday, with Fox confirming that the release of 'Fight the Future' will coincide with the just-announced 'I Want to Believe' on Blu-ray in early December.
As confirmed earlier today, Fox will release the latest X-Files feature, 'X-Files: I Want to Believe' on Blu-ray December 2. Fox has now announced they will also debut the first big-screen X-Files adventure, 'X-Files: Fight the Future,' on the same day.
Loaded with never-before-seen content new to the Blu-ray, exclusives include a Bonus View (Profile 1.1) In-Movie track that includes picture-in-picture with creator Chris Carter, director Rob Bowman, co-producer/writer Frank Spotnitz and producer Daniel Sackheim (also available as a standard audio commentary, storyboards and behind-the-scenes footage, a trio of featurettes ("Blackwood: The Making of Fight the Future," "Scoring," "Visual Effects"), deleted scenes, alternate ending, still galleries, gag reel and theatrical trailers.
Extras carried over from the previous standard DVD release of 'Fight the Future' include an original audio commentary with Carter and Bowman, and a production featurette.
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $39.98.
You'll find final specs for 'X-Files: Fight the Future' and 'X-Files: I Want to Believe' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they're indexed under December 2.
