Fox is bringing its latest classic to Blu-ray, announcing a mid-March release for 'The Robe.'
Starring Richard Burton and Jean Simmons, the 1953 epic -- the first ever filmed in CinemaScope -- will receive its long-awaited high-def debut on March 17. (Fox previously released a special edition DVD version in 2004.)
Tech specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer disc with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video (2.20:1) and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.
No supplement specs are available as of yet, but a package comparable to the DVD is expected. We'll keep you posted.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.
