Syfy's 2012 swashbuckling miniseries will pillage Blu-ray in July.
In an early announcement to retailers, Vivendi has slated 'Treasure Island' for Blu-ray on July 24.
Recently making its US premiere May 5 on Syfy, and from imaginative Director Steve Barron (“Merlin”), comes the gritty and intense new adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel. 'Treasure Island' stars Emmy® winner Eddie Izzard (“The Riches,”), Elijah Wood ('Lord of the Rings' films), Golden Globe® winner Donald Sutherland ('Hunger Games,' 'Citizen X'), Toby Regbo ('Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1'), Rupert Penry-Jones ('Match Point,' “Whitechapel”) and Daniel Mays ('The Adventures of Tintin').
Specs haven't been confirmed yet, but supplements will include cast interviews and a commentary with Steve Barron.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray set is $29.95.
