Peter Sasdy's 1971 cult horror is getting an uncut U.S. Blu-ray release in July.
In an early announcement to retailers, Synapse Films will release 'Hands of the Ripper' on Blu-ray on July 9.
The infant daughter of Jack the Ripper is witness to the brutal murder of her mother by her father. Fifteen years later she is a troubled young woman who is seemingly possessed by the spirit of her father. While in a trance she continues his murderous killing spree but has no recollection of the events afterwards. A sympathetic psychiatrist takes her in and is convinced he can cure her condition. Soon, however, he regrets his decision.
Specs have yet to be revealed, but supplements include: The Devil's Bloody Plaything: Possessed by HANDS OF THE RIPPER featurette; Slaughter of Innocence: The Evolution of Hammer Gore motion still gallery; U.S. television introduction; Original theatrical trailer and TV spots; HANDS OF THE RIPPER motion still gallery; and Isolated music and effects audio track.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is still undetermined at this time.
