Blu-ray Plays it 'Safe'

Boaz Yakin's adrenaline-charged crime thriller will explode on Blu-ray in September.

In an early announcement to retailers, Lionsgate says 'Safe' is coming to Blu-ray on September 4.

Everyone's favorite action hero, Jason Statham ('The Expendables'), gives an exhilarating performance as Luke Wright, a mixed martial arts cage fighter who comes to the rescue of a terrified young girl on the run from the city's most dangerous gangsters.

Catherine Chan shines in her film debut alongside Statham and keeps audiences riveted as she plays an orphaned math prodigy who holds a secret number that could ruin the Triads, the Russian mob and a corrupt part of the NYPD. The film also stars Robert John Burke ('Limitless'), James Hong ('Kung Fu Panda 1 & 2'), Anson Mount ('Straw Dogs') and Chris Sarandon ('Dog Day Afternoon').

The release will be a Blu-ray/Digital Copy combo pack with 1080P video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack, and supplements include three featurettes and a director's commentary.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99.
