'All Things Fall Apart' Blu-ray Announced

Posted Dec 9, 2011 at 08:00 AM PST by Tom Landy

The "unforgettable story about beating the odds" starring Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is bound for Blu-ray this Valentine's Day.

In an early announcement to retailers, Image Entertainment is working on 'All Things Fall Apart' for Blu-ray on February 14.

'All Things Fall Apart' is a triumphant, inspirational tale of physical and emotional redemption starring hip-hop superstar Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, as you’ve never seen him before. In the film, Jackson ('Get Rich or Die Tryin’, 'Gun') plays Deon, a college running back possessing blazing speed and stunning power. As he reaches the pinnacle of his college football career and prepares for a potential NFL tryout, life unexpectedly takes a turn and what was once easy and natural, becomes unattainable. With his football career in serious jeopardy, Deon begins to realize a startling truth…he is not the man he thought he was. Equipped with this newfound knowledge, Deon sets out to better himself by reuniting his family and picking up the pieces of his life.

Directed by Mario Van Peebles ('New Jack City') and co-starring Emmy™ and Golden-Globe™ winner Lynn Whitfield ('The Josephine Baker Story') and Ray Liotta ('Goodfellas'), the film has created tremendous buzz at film festivals this year based on Jackson’s astonishing physical transformation for the role (he lost over 50 lbs.). Praised for its sensitive storytelling and ultimate message of hope, 'All Things Fall Apart' is co-written and produced by Jackson and Randall Emmett of Cheetah Vision Films. Patricia Eberle, Rionda Del Castro, Anthony Gudas, and Michael Corso are the executive producers.

The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and there doesn't appear to be any supplements.

Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $29.97.
