The world's first 31.5-inch 8K monitor is now available for purchase.

Following its debut at CES 2017, Dell has launched its first 8K display. The new UltraSharp 32 8K Monitor offers four times more content than Ultra HD 4K resolution and 16 times more content than Full HD.

The monitor uses a 31.5-inch 8K (7680 x 4320) IPS panel capable of 1 billion colors, 33.2M pixels of resolution, 100 percent Adobe RGB and sRGB color gamut support, 98 percent DCI-P3 color gamut support, and 280 ppi (pixels per inch). Brightness is rated for 400cd/m2 (typical) and the contrast ratio is listed as 1300:1 (typical). In addition, the display uses a nearly borderless design, maximizing screen real estate. Coupled with its Dell PremierColor clarity and gradation, the monitor offers ideal performance for commercial fields where image zooming is important, including photo and video editing, medicine and diagnostic research, and oil and gas exploration.

Here's a rundown of key color features per Dell:

A broad, brilliant spectrum: Dell PremierColor offers wide color coverage that meets major industry standards — 100% AdobeRGB, 100% sRGB, 100% Rec. 709, and 98% DCI-P3 — for pristine, unwavering colors.

Extraordinary color depth: Tremendous color detail with 1.07 billion colors (that’s 64 times more color depth than standard monitors). Even in dark areas, you’ll see better color gradation and precision in more shades.

Fine-tune with precision: Customize color parameters to your preference using the Custom Color mode, SDK or an optional X-rite iDisplay Pro colorimeter.

Accurate color, out of the box: Calibrated on AdobeRGB and sRGB to an accuracy of Delta-E < 2 with a factory calibration report that gives you the confidence that colors will be impressively accurate right from the start.

The Dell UltraSharp 31.5-inch 8K monitor is now available for $5,000 through with an estimated May shipping date.
