The satellite provider has updated its mobile TV app with a new interface and features.
Dish has announced the release of a new version of its TV Anywhere app for iPad, Android, and Kindle tablets. The latest update offers a modernized design and several enhanced options for discovering content.
"DISH Anywhere has been embraced by DISH customers as the premier platform for watching television shows while on the go," said Vivek Khemka, DISH senior vice president of product management. "This is a powerful upgrade; the app's streamlined design creates a user-friendly experience while giving consumers a dynamic way to engage and discover new programs."
The Dish Anywhere app allows Hopper with Sling customers to watch live, on-demand, and recorded shows on their mobile devices. In addition to a sleek new interface, the updated app includes a personalized recommendation feature, a "Watchlist" for keeping track of desired shows and movies, and a section that files recently viewed programs for resuming playback later. Likewise, Dish has added a Media Page that keeps track of all of the viewing options for different programs, and a "What's Hot" section for recommending popular titles. Finally, the app also allows users to turn their tablets into a remote control.
Dish's updated app is now available free of cost for Android, Kindle, and iOS tablets. A smartphone version is also on the way later this year.
