'Beyond the Battle' video series promotes the past and future of 'C & C'.

Electronic Arts has quite the task in reviving the 'Command & Conquer' franchise. What originally began as 'Command & Conquer: Generals 2' has become 'Command & Conquer' a free-to-ply RTS that is currently in beta and attempts to nail the core gameplay of what was once a top-tier strategy series.

Along those lines, EA has produced the 'Beyond the Battle' video series that seems to promote the new game by correlating its origin in the 90's and early 2000's era successes. Victory Games, found in 2010 and temporarily slapped with a BioWare moniker, is behind the new game and thus a big part of the video series.

Brief glimpses of early 'C & C' and 'C & C: Red Alert' titles can be seen before shifting to the new game, which at one point was going to have three factions. Now it seems the game will feature generals that players can select and thereby receive special skills.

The simply named 'Command & Conquer' is built using EA's Frostbite 2 engine and is currently a PC exclusive, which is a strong contrast to the recent console-centric installments. The game is loosely scheduled to release before the end of the year, and beta registrations can be found at title's website.
