Four new free ad-supported movie services are available now on Boxee.
We're still waiting on the Boxee Box, but in the meantime, those currently using Boxee software are getting a nice upgrade.
Since the TV Show Library was added on Boxee, it's been getting a lot of love from the user base. Using it, you can search for full length television shows from a variety of sources. The new Movie Library will do exactly the same thing, but for films. Four providers have been added right off the bat, with more on the way.
If you're a fan of independent or cult films, you'll find plenty to love here. EZTakes, IndieMoviesOnline, MUBI and OpenFilm are the services that will launch right away, and all offer you the opportunity to check out films that are a bit off of the beaten path – movies that you won't find at the multiplex.
It's not going to satisfy all movie lovers, but when combined with Netflix, the Movie Library is excellent. It's a great supplement to big-budget movie providers and a great way to discover some films you may have missed.
Boxee says that more services, tweaks, and features are on the way soon.
