Two new affordable HD tablets are now available for pre-order.
ASUS has announced two additions to its growing tablet lineup, the MeMO Pad 7 ME176CX and the MeMO Pad 8 ME181C. Both devices run on the Android 4.4 OS.
The MeMO Pad 7 ME176CX features a 7-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display and the MeMO Pad 8 ME181C features an 8-inch 1280 x 800 IPS display. Both tablets are powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Baytrail-TZ3745 Quad Core 1.33GHz (Turbo up to 1.86GHz) CPU with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The 7-inch model includes a 0.3MP front camera and a 2MP rear camera. Meanwhile, the 8-inch model includes a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera. Both tablets offer Bluetooth 4.0 capabilities, Miracast support, CSR's aptX audio coding, and up to nine hours of battery life.
The MeMO Pad 7 ME176CX ($149) and the MeMO Pad 8 ME181C ($199) are available for pre-order now on Amazon for a June 22 release. Customers who pre-order will receive a free one-year Accidental Damage Protection plan.
