Close to thirty games, including 'Bastion,' known to support the peripheral.
Logitech has a long history of making excellent and adaptable peripherals. Though the company seems to have taken a step back from making console peripherals, the establishment of the iPhone controller framework has elicited the opportunity to produce the Logitech PowerShell + Battery.
From Logitech, "The Logitech® PowerShell™ Controller + Battery – turns your iPhone 5s, iPhone 5, and iPod touch (5th generation) running iOS 7 into a mobile console gaming experience."
Key features:
Console-style analog game controls, including: an analog d-pad, shoulder triggers, and button cluster. Analog off-screen controls allow gamers to play more intensive, complex games and use the entire screen for viewing the game leading to a more immersive mobile gaming experience.
1500 mAh battery: Allows for long play sessions of high-powered games without worry of draining the phone’s internal battery. Both batteries can be recharged without removing the phone from the controller.
Works with iOS 7 controller-compatible games: The gamer is not limited to a small selection of games targeted at one controller nor is required to install special software to enable the controller.
Slim Profile: Streamlined for quick-draw gaming. Even with the included batteries, the total package remains pocketable with a form-fitting grip.
Headphone Adapter: The included 3.5mm headphone adapter solves the typical issue of controlling iOS games while having headphones plugged in by redirecting the cord safely away.
The iPhone controller framework currently requires that games maintain full touch support, making the new controllers optional. Nevertheless, Logitech has a growing list of compatible games that is highlighted by games like 'Bastion,' 'Scribblenauts Remix,' and 'King of Fighters i 2012.'
The Logitech PowerShell + Battery is available from the Apple store for $100.
