New update exports save info to 'Phantom Pain'.
Chances are pretty decent if you're in for the 'Ground Zeroes' penny, you're in for the 'Phantom Pain' pound, and tomorrow's going to be a pretty big day for you. Before you get too gung-ho about leaving the prequel behind, though, you might want to give it one last spin.
The title has just gotten a tiny software update which adds the ability to upload your save info from 'Ground Zeroes' to the PSN specifically for use in 'Phantom Pain'. For what purpose, exactly? No clue whatsoever, yet. The smart money says it allows you to import your recruits between the games, but it could be more. Who knows. But fact remains, if you made any sort of decent progress in 'Ground Zeroes', it's worth sending it to the PSN. This also applies if you played 'Ground Zeroes' on PS3, by the way. It won't cross platforms (PS3 to Xbox One), but it does work between console generations (PS3 to PS4)
Unfortunately, in case you're wondering, no, there's no such update for the Xbox yet, but it can't be terribly far behind. Just hold out till the official announcement.
