Sony Unveils New Wireless Speakers

Three wireless speaker models have been announced.

Sony has revealed the latest additions to its wireless speaker lineup. The upcoming collection includes the LF-S50G wireless speaker and the GTK-XB60 and XB90 EXTRA BASS portable wireless speakers.

The LF-S50G features integrated support for Google Assistant, allowing users to play music, adjust volume, and skip tracks through voice commands starting with "Ok Google." Likewise, customers can also use the Assistant to ask for weather forecasts or traffic information, along with the ability to control several smart devices. The unit uses a 360 degree, vertical two-way facing design with a full range speaker, dedicated subwoofer, and omnidirectional two stage diffuser. Bluetooth Wireless Technology and Wi-Fi connectivity are offered as well. 

"Now you can get Sony's awesome sound quality and design with the Google Assistant built-in," said Mike Fasulo, President and COO of Sony Electronics. "This functionality is another example of Sony's commitment to customer choice by delivering new and innovative technologies."

Meanwhile, the GTK-XB60 and XB90 are wireless speakers with EXTRA BASS Sound. As the largest XB series speakers to date, the new models also offer the loudest performance while still remaining portable. The GTK-XB60 features two tweeters (5cm) and two woofers (13cm), and the GTK- XB90 features three tweeters (6cm) and two woofers (18cm). Both units include a microphone input, along with multi-color line light, speaker lights, and strobe light which can synchronize with the beat of the music. The GTK-XB60 is rated of a mx battery life of up to 14 hours, and the GTK-XB90 is rated for a max battery life up to 16 hours.

The LF-S50G will be available in October for an MSRP of $200. The GTK-XB60 (MSRP $350) and XB90 (MSRP $450) are available now.
